I'm looking forward to seeing your photos from RI. Did you go to the Chaffee Nature Preserve to see the seals?
We saw some in Galilee this past fall when heading to Block Island on the ferry, and there are river otters that visits the pond by my house in Potowomut that also feel magical to see.
PS - "une photographe de ma taille" is the best french phrase I've ever learned! Je peux comprendre!!
Hi Kate, Happy New Year! Yes, that's where we were! Although I still think of it as Rome Point, because it wasn't a nature preserve when I was growing up. I was hoping to check for otters in the area, too, but didn't have a chance. I saw them once a few years ago at the pond on Annaquatucket Road in NK. How lucky that you have them nearby! Block Island is on my list for a future spring/summer trip! I read that there are seals there as well in the winter. Hopefully next trip we'll have more time to get out for nature and photo walks - I'll let you know! Glad the phrases I'm learning for life as a short person in France are helpful, lol!
Happy New Year! I have family from RI too! I was visiting over Thanksgiving. I look forward to seeing the post on your trip. All the best to you and your family in 2026!
Happy New Year, Mary!
Thank you, Susanne! All the best to you in 2026!
Happy new year!
